You can't battle wild pokemon in this game as jacktheking said.

You can level up your pokemon buy battling in NPC Fights.

Sorry, you cannot battle wild pokemon. You can only catch them. You can battle them by going to their information, battling someone, or going to NPC Fights, Battle Tent or the Battle Towers. Hope this helps you ^__^

You look around the map until you find a wild pokemon. You click on a selected pokeball under the wild pokemon. Like Pokeball (1x) means you have one pokeball only.

To buy pokeballs, go to Mart Co. on the left below Trades/Misc to buy pokeballs using money. Money can be earned by battling NPC trainers under Battles on the left.
