Graphics Dos And Donts And other tips
All Credits Go To Complan Boy!
Mail Complan Boy -290723 for any edits of mistakes in this guide.

Here is a list of Do's, Don'ts and other hints and tips for getting along in the graphics forum

Note:Graphics follow the basic Pokemon creed rules, and can be bought only with Pokemon Creed Currency for use in Pokemon creed Only

Do's:
- Ask for Comments and Criticism(Short Form-CNC) In Graphics Showcase Section. This will help you progress as an artist and move forward.

- Always be civil and try to write using proper English. Most people will empathise a lot better with this and will be significantly more inclined to help you if you do this.

- When buying put clear details of what you want and how much you are paying.
Remember that the people making it aren't machines, they might not always want to/be able to make the signature you want.

Don'ts:
- Do not rip work. This is where you take someone else's work and either post it as it is or change very little to it.

- Keep it to one thread. If you put work up for CnC(Comments And Criticism) and add another work up, edit the original thread.

- Do not simply post images with text on them. This is not doing real work and you will get no money or ratings for this kind of work.

- Do not get very angry at criticism. The criticism is there to try and help you progress so take it as help.

- Do not start with an auction. When you are new usually your work is not as good as you think it is. It is generally best to start by asking for CnC and you can later auction when your work is up to scratch.

- Do not be stingy, graphics is art and so comes at a price, if you want the best be prepared to pay.

- Do not ask people to mail you for details when buying something, takes more time and graphics artists are very lazy. Not only that but it will save you having to copy the same thing to everyone that does message you.

Hints and tips and help and stuff:

- Profile/Forum signature sizes do not have a strict size. Though Signatures are usually regarded as being anything up to 500 x 200, as this is the maximum forum signature size.

Any other idea's that anyone has are always welcome and if anyone has any questions regarding this please don't hesitate to ask about it.

How to Request work:
This thread will clearly explain how to make a request for work that nearly all designers would be happy with. Ask any designer, there is nothing worse than a poor request for work.

If this is your first time in the graphics forum/requesting work I strongly advise to to read on, it will benefit you in the long run.

Step 1) - The Topic
First off, when starting a thread you need a good topic. Make it bold and clear so that it catches the designers eye. Something like this:
Requesting A Signature - Paying 100 coins
Including the price in the topic is KEY, especially if your paying well, designers like seeing cash figures. Cash Figures = WIN!

Step 2) - The Post
This bit is VERY important.
In your post you should include information such as:

Dimensions e.g.
- If it's a Signature usually around 400x150 pixels but the recommended maximum size is 500*200 pixels. Although you can ask for any size.

State clearly what you want e.g.
- (Signature, Profile Image, Large Art, etc)

Possible colour schemes e.g.
- Black and White
- Red and White
- Red
- Warm colours
- Cold colours

Provide a stock Image if you can
- This is basically the image you want the designer to use.
(Choosing high quality images is very important)
(Find a few Images, this way the designer can pick which one they think will work best. When posting stock, do not stretch the page. It is better to make a clickable link)
If you are unsure of where to find stock images, check out the links given at the end.

Say what text you want on it e.g.
- Your Name
- A slogan of some kind

Say what you are willing to pay
- This is VERY important. Remember, Cash Figures = WIN!
- If you don't include what your willing to pay you will get very little response and if you do, it will only be someone telling you to include what your willing to pay.

If you follow those steps and include all the correct information in your thread you will get more attention from designers, and the outcome of your work will be much better. Don't overcomplicated things, just give them the basics, thats all they need.

You are now ready to request your work.
