When i first started i was able to get on chat but now it says i need 8 gym badges. why is it like that?

It's to prevent spam. I really don't like it either but I did it anyways.

Some of it seems silly. :L Like when the promo was CursedGoomy, I went on one day to see if the promo was still going, and I could still get one. Then someone asked me to buy them one (On the same day!!!!!) and I agreed. But then when I went to buy it for them, it said I need all 48 badges. -.- On the same DAY. I liked it better when we needed Forum Credits to buy them. Now they're useless!
But anyways. Like Blue said, it's to prevent spam from all the newbies.

If you want to get in the chat room that bad, the best thing you can do is go out and get the 8 badges. A strategy for training for it is to repeat swimmer Richard npc over and over to desired lvl by giving the training poke the move bolt strike. Just spam it over and over and it's fast leveling. Think of it as something to do to unlock something.

You get 8 badges, and it shows you are worthy to use the chatroom to trade, sell, buy, chat with other creed members.

I just find it more as a Requirement .-. or a Chore, and not really rewarding, But that's just my opinion, the reason I think of it as that is: "Well, I got my Messages privilege back. Darn creed is making the Gymleaders become a Chore, rather than something you SHOULD DO AT YOUR LEISURE. The actual games don't do that stuff, It's all like "Oh, okay, You go train. I won't rush you" Where as Creed is like "GET ALL THE GYMBADGES NOW! >:O" When you make it so people think the Gymleaders are just a chore, it doesn't make them want to do it. (at least not for me, anyways) I was slowly going to destroy the Gymleaders because I found battling the Gymleaders something that you should like to do, Not just something your told to do. The Actual games allow you to prepare, and creed does that too, But with the games, it feels, rewarding in a way when you get a new gymbadge, but with Creed it's "Friggen finally I can go do this now. >.>" . The Gymbattles were supposed to BE something, Not just a roadblock to another roadblock. the Games made it so the Gymbadges were a symbol of your power and teamwork. where as in Creed it's just a collectible and does nothing." I actually wrote this a while ago (And No I do not mean any disrespect to anyone with this)

It's added because people create new accounts to break rules/beg. Blame them. The first few gyms aren't that hard either and should only take a day to two if the user actually plays the game.
