Observation of New Players and their Development

Hey everyone.

I decided to do a little project on creed, which relates to new players and their development.
I've had discussions with several, experienced players on here, and some agree that it is very hard for new players to get started on here, and to come far.

I myself had a hard time getting where I am now, I've had help from other players ( contests ) or friends, and spent a lot ( too much ) time playing and training here. Those who don't receive any help may soon quit after getting nowhere, which is sad.

That is why I decided to help new players, and already opened a 'Free level 1000-1500 Pokemon for IDs over 180.000 ' thread in the Market/Trades section. The thing is, not many people requested a pokemon on there, I only had 55 different people ( I had moderators check 90% of the people ) asking for a pokemon within 20 days. I came to the conclusion that a very low percantage of the new players actually visit the forums, which is why not many receive any help.

I found a way to find them, which is the Online List.
This is what I will do:
Â· Each day I will send 20 x lvl 1k pokemon to new players from the online list.
Â· For that, I will look at their team, and send the pokemon to players who try to build up a team.
Â· I don't care if I send 2 pokemon to the same person with 2 accounts, since I don't think that they create 2 accounts and try to build up a good team on both accounts anyways.

Then I will watch them in a longer time span, and observe the following criterions:
- Do they even put the gifted pokemon into their Team ? ( Many people don't notice, that they've been gifted something).
- Do they thank me via pm ? ( To see if they are thankful and realize what happened ).
- What do they do with their new pokemon?
- Do they beg for more stuff?
- Do they ask questions about the game?
- Other observations.

I hope this will help a lot new players, and also the development of creed. I'm very curious to see the results!

i usually send a message too a welcome message to explain i sent them a pokemon and already changed moves to bolt strike explain how to train and guide them to the guide in forums and give small other tips. most people to see message than understand the event.

Yeah I should do that. Though sending 20 pms to each takes some time :S But I will do it I think.

type a message then leave it in a notepad or microsoft word. then copy it then add Welcome to Creed ___ and then should be fine

I agree, though they are no rats, just normal people. I'm going to be an biological technician, which is work in a laboratory. That is probably one reason why I liked this idea so much :D
