fishing contest
hey everybody i am pretty new in the game and i think a few weeks ago i discovered the fishing contest and how we can get coins so i bought a good rod and a super rod and tried it out from that time i did not get anything more than 28,000 points so just wanted to ask is there something that i am doing wrong or is it just random

just like anarchy said it's a game of luck the best chance to win is to have a pokemon that is worth over 30,000 points thats how my girlfriend has one the fishing contest.
