I live in California too, but my question is how much did japan move I mean if must have been a great earthquake if people noticed japan moved closer. I am not saying it is not true i just want to know how much it moved closer and is it the only place that moved because of the earthquake

Omg -.- I's plate tectonics. And you're seriously worried about Japan colliding with California? That earthquake caused the island to move 8 feet. 8 FEET! Japan s thousands of miles away from Calif.

Well it is fascinating that Japan moved like 8 feet. It might be looks like it's nothing but if it happens over and over it will move a lot.

If Japan actually moved, than that earthquake was crazy powerful. I heard it was terrible, but to actually move it, it must have been incredibly powerful to do something like that. I hope everything's alright over there, and hopefully it doesnt keep moving.

even if its a little bit, it may move closer and there would be more earthquakes making it move more, meaning theres a better chance there would be a tsunami. thats what im worried about.
