This is of fishing contest. In fishing contest, you can fish for a pokemon using either a good rod, old rod or super rod. You can unleash rod, and you will catch a pokemon. Your previous score is replaced with every new catch. There is a rankboard where top three catchers get rewarded. Your chances are winning are only if you have a super rod. I suggest that you don't buy old and good rod and directly buy super rod(saves some coins). even if you were to sell the rods back, you can sell it for a little less than you bought it for.
