I'm studying the solar system at school can someone help

there are 8 planets in our solar system there used to be 9 but pluto got classified as a dwarf planet and is no longer counted. the planets orbit the sun and rotate around in at a fixed rate though each has a different rate, mercury goes around the sun more often then neptune and earth. each time a planet completes a revolution of the sun, a year has passed. that should be all you need to know about our solar system i hoped this helped :)

Just as eves says there are eight planets. The names of these planets are Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus and then Neptune. With Neptune being the farthest from the sun and Mercury the closest. But the Solar System also comprises the Sun, the eight planets and their moons and other non-stellar objects. The four inner planets (Mercury to Mars) are called Terrestial Planets and the four outer planets (Jupiter to Neptune) are called Gas Giants. All planets have almost circular orbits that lie within a nearly flat disc called the ecliptic plane. And the Solar System was formed around 4,6Billion years ago. Hope this helps

There is 8 planets, but i think i saw once of a show were scientists had discovered a planet a little farther a way than pluto that may be branded a planet.

The solar system has 8 planets, Pluto is a dwarf planet and many light years away there is a super earth which is the same thing like earth but far away I learned these in school xD
