Nth term? I dont get it. More information maybe?

The Nth Term is the number in a number term found after following a certain sequence.
Examples:
2, 4, 6, 8, 10,... [Say you wanted the ninth term. You must first find the pattern (or sequence) which is 2*1 (First Term), 2*2 (Second Term), 2*3 (Third Term), etc. The nth term is two times n, or 2n. So to find the ninth term, you would need 2(9), which is 18.]
3, 9, 27, 81,... [The pattern is 3^n (3 to the power of n)]
5, 13, 33, 89,... [The pattern here is the mix of the examples above: 2n+3^n (2(1)+3^1=5, 2(2)+3^2=13)]
