Suppose a time traveler traveled to the 1990's and brought a computer from today's society with him. How do you think technology would advance?

We'd probably be making something much more advanced than flying cars.

To be honest, i think it would make holographic computer for kids, cant even imagine the type of stuff they would have for adults, and then cars and engineering in general would just skyrocket, and they could also reduce pollution from back in those times.

just think of it that there is 2 sides of a coin, there's a possibility that technology would advance to a highest point, but there is also a possibility that technology would not exist in the future... ^_^

^ i don't quite understand why it wouldn't mel. If in theory the time traveler came from the future then i'm pretty sure they have technology considering the physical time leap machine required to take the computer back.
I doubt technology would advance as far as most of you say, but holograms are very possible. Higher lv computers would also develop other technology, so it's likely hydrogen fuel cells would be efficient in that worldline as well

well, Ty have you also considered the possibility of what kind of person used the time travel device ^_^ that's why i said 2 sides of a coin considering the middle side be no change of future... ^_^ ,a positive side and a negative side... ^_^

I really do have to doubt that there would be no technology in the future.
If you brought something from the future, back in time, they could use that to develop what they currently had and then expand their knowledge and devices, eventually bringing them to a more advanced future than we have now.

Technology would be advanced by possibly a 100 years, like nanotech. And the people back then could play pokemon creed:)

if that will happen, maybe there will be a cure for some illness that is incurable with the help of advance technology.

^likely, but you also have to consider that the 1990's already had basic computers. There's a good chance that people wouldn't believe him at first, but would after it was turned on.

that is if he wouldn't take advantage of it himself considering advancing tec. to a more absolute design and making more weapon of mass destruction instead of cures just to take over the government one by one ^_^, i might be sounding devilish but if people only thinks of it positively way, no one would consider the possibility to a downside O_O
