"Nothing, but how are you good with animals?" Yami says.

Melody replied, but didn't lower her bow. "I'm an elf. Elves are good with animals. But my father tells me I'm better with animals than anyone else."

He nods. "Shoot." He says.

Melody noticed a knot of wood on a trunk that was a long ways away, and shot it.
"Bulls-eye." She said, smiling.

"I meant at me," Yami says.

"Oh." Melody said. "Now why would I do that?"

"Just shoot." He says.

"Are you sure you want me to shoot you?" Melody asked, getting an arrow from her quiver.

"Do it now!" Yami says.

Melody rolled her eyes and let her arrow fly.

As soon as it was half a centimeter from his face, he caught it. "Good with animals, kind, but defensive. So far, is this what describes you?"

"I guess." Melody said, taking the arrow back.

He walks away, leaving a trail of dead leaves in his path.
