Im thinking about learning some coding and programming so my time in university is easier and so i have a fall back plan of sorts, if anyone can suggest some sites or even give me hints and tips and such on coding it would be greatly appreciated :)

A step-by-step tutorial on many different types.

If you are going to learn coding , you need to first think what you are gonna make code like (site coding , system based , game , etc)
for site coding there are many languages like :HTML (most imp),CSS ,JS(JavaScript),PHP ,C#,AJAX , etc. you may go to w3schools.com
for system based(system application,etc) :JAVA ,C ,C++(best is JAVA imo),etc.
for games : Unity 3D , java , etc.
for android software (that would run in ur android phone) : android itself (u may use IDE like eclipse )
