Math help?
Well, someone asked me about calculating sales tax,and I'm not exactly sure how to do this, but here goes.
Okay, you went to the store and bought 5 items. The total sales tax for those five items was 55 cents. How much is tax for each item? Wouldn't you just do 55/5=x and x= sales tax per item, or is there a different way to go about it? You don't have to give me the answer, but please tell me how to solve this problem if it DOES come up again.

It would have to be 55/5 = x. There really wouldn't be any other way to go about it that I know of.
