There were 18 tribes, all based on a pokemon's respective type and are inhabited by pokemon of that type. (I.E The Fire Tribe is inhabited by only Fire types) They also all have a 'God' figure that they worship and these God Pokemon are always Legendaries.(I.E, Normal can worship Arceus or Regigigas. or Steel can worship Jirachi) After several years, the Tribes were living in peace until the Tribes decided their God was the only one that should be believed in, and this caused a massive war among the tribes, even the greatest of friends became bitter foes. You're a member of one of these tribes, and there are many ranks for you to have. Due to the war, however, there is a new tribe that has its belief being in all Legendary Pokemon as a 'God'.

The Ranks are the Leader, Warrior, Healer, Trainee, and Gatherer.
Though the Warrior Rank goes on further to Direct Warrior(Close-combat specialists) Indirect Warrior(Indirect Specialist, relying on 'special' attacks.) and Warrior of Ambush (Uses stealth and status conditions to defeat their foes) and "Protectors"(They stay behind to protect their tribe's homeland.)

So, will you be able to stop the war, or just merely survive the war with only your wits? That is your decision.
