Metal's closer to Sonic, because, well since you watched OVA, you know how they're connected. xD
Well yes, Shard is the original Metal Sonic, but when the Power Gem was recovered after he was destroyed at the one time when he decided to be good (I guess is a good way to put it xD) it ofc only kept some of the original programming. As far as I know, part of the programming that wasn't kept was that connection (which would explain why Sonic didn't know that he was still alive.). The programming that told him to destroy Sonic was ofc gone. Lol
Although more than once with the other Metals I've been like "OMG you guys are connected that way! Sonic, how the frack did you NOT know that Metal was doing that!?"
And that would also explain why. Since the rebuilds/replacements don't have the original programming, they must not be connected to Sonic in the same way.
So yeah, that's why I picked the rebuild/replacement over him... If that makes sense? ('Cause like I said, it's harder to explain since you haven't read the comics.)
