has anyone ever been to metal festivals in europe such as fortarock xl, graspop metal meeting or wacken open air, or are you going to one soon? share your hopes experiences and maybe some tips for those who never been to a festival before

never liked any metal. :P it was always a bit to angry for me. i like the music but the lyrics are what kills it for me

That is a shame because there are very good metal bands without any lyrics that suck. Try sabaton it is a power metal band which has historic lyrics about for example D-Day

Ok well from what i have heard the wacken open air festival in germany is awesome but if you look at line up then graspop metal meeting is way better. At graspop you got bands like saxon kreator bullet for my valentine IRON MAIDEN(this years headliner and main act) and slipknot which comes quite often to graspop

Dream On, Dreamer
I, Valiance
and House V.S Hurricane

I have never even heard of those bands xD they are probably local bands? Well the sad thing is with graspop it is starting to turn into a black metal festival and not just a metal festival, last years headliner was OZZY OSBOURNE he came all the way from the USA to Belgium for graspop

Metal festivals are just a collection of bands who play metal music that do a concert or concerts on one day or even several days and you can camp on the terrain of the festivals if it takes longer than one day

Well i have not been to one yet but in june i am going to the dutch metal festival FortarockXL but from what i have heard the shows are awesome the music is great and the moshpits are the best so yeah i think it is pretty awesome just like a concert except longer and just better
