(I don't think so. Someone said that the reason it was cancelled was because Sega was planning to release modern Sonic in (I forget which game) so they had to scrap it. :/ IDK if that's true or not, but that's what someone said.)

(I heard a rumor that they're gonna make a comic to say what happened at the end. If they found their mom or not. If it's true, it hasn't been made yet. xD But seriously, if it's legit, I'm going to do everything I can to get a copy of it. LOL)

Well, after playing Sonic Rush for a while: Blaze is better because she's as fast, but has better jumping/hangtime abilities.
