After a little bit, they stopped in front of a house. Mononoke entered, and a lady sat on a tatami mat in front of them.
"Oh, hello little wolf girl." She said. "What may I do for you?"
"I want to see Ashi." Mononoke replied.

Mononoke fell to her knees in defeat. Tears swelled up in her eyes.

I turn back human. "It's not really nice to laugh at someone who is desperately searching for someone. Come on, Mononoke, there's got to be someone somewhere that knows where Ashi is. If you give up, what is the point?" I say, getting her up to her feet.

Mononoke felt numb as Ace led her out of the town.

I swore I wanted to kill that woman so bad for mocking Mononoke. I realized she didn't seem to walk like usual (Trust me, I've tried walking while numb) and asked, "Are you okay? I could shapeshift into an ox or a horse to carry you if you don't feel well."

(In the movie, Mononoke and Lady Eboshi actually did want to kill each other. =P)
