It was night. Not my favorite time. I shivered, it was cold in here

"Well it SOUNDS good, but where would we even begin searching?" Sonic asked.
"I have no idea. I guess places that you wouldn't think to hide in." I replied.
"Like in a sewer?" Manic asked. (Only Blue's going to get that joke. xD)
"Well, yeah, but it is yucky." I replied.

In a house... A voice said.

(A house? xD But that's where the people are looking! LOL oh well. xD)
We gasped.
"Did you just hear that?" I asked my brothers.
"It said something about a house." Sonic replied.
"But if they were hiding in a house, wouldn't the people have gotten them already?" I questioned.
"Unless it was a house they missed." Manic added.
"In that case, we've got to get over there quick!" Sonic stated.
"I agree, the only problem is...where would that house be?" I wondered.

(XD. I was about to type: BY THE MAGICAL PALM TREE)
It's the house hidden in the cave by the beach. The voice replied

(BY THE MAGICAL PALM TREE YOU'RE RIGHT! xD)
"There's that voice again!" I yelled.
"It said something about being inside a cave by the beach." Manic added.
"Well then let's go look there." Sonic suggested, directing us to the van.

I wrapped my scarf around my nose and mouth. Why did it have to begin raining?

After a few minutes, the van was off. Within about 30 minutes, we arrived at a cave.
"Do you think this is it?" I asked.
"Most likely, especially since this is the only cave for a few miles yet." Sonic replied.
Manic drove the van into the cave.

'Have they found me? OH NO!' I thought. I was tempted to run

"Good. Even if they're not in here, the cave will hide the van from those people if they should come back here." I said.
"We don't want those people to find us- or whoever is in here."
"I agree." Sonic replied.
We exited the van and walked deeper into the cave.
"It's a bit dark. Kinda' hard to see." I commented. Manic pulled a flashlight out of his bag.
"That helps." I said.

I heard footsteps. But the didn't sound like metal. Strange, maybe more survivors?

Eventually we ended up coming across a house.
"I guess the part about the house inside a cave was legit." I stated. My brothers nodded. We walked up to the door and softly knocked on it, trying to not alert any of those bad people to our presence.
"Hey, what if it's a trap?" Manic asked.
"Well we'll just have to find out." Sonic answered.
"Because if this isn't a trap, we've gotten to any survivors before they have and we can get them out of here." I added.

I got up and peeked through the door. They didn't seem evil. I opened the door
