Primary Type:
Digits of the date you were born multiplied by each other (if singular ignore this step) then add your month (if you were born in October, November or December, add 1, 2 or 3 respectively)
I was born on the 25th of May so I'm multiplying 2 by 5, which equals 10, then I'm adding 5 for the month and this all equals to 15. So my Primary type is Ice.

If you get a number higher than 16, (we're not using 17 in this step), say you get 23, count from 1 through to 16 then starting at 1 again until you reach your number, in this case, you would get Bug as your Primary type as that's the 23rd type.

Secondary type:
All digits of the year you were born in added together to get a number 17 or less. We aren't using Normal in this step as no one will get 1, nor is Normal a secondary type.
Say you were born in 1987, like I was then you'd add 1, 9, 8, 7 together which is 25, and since that's higher than 17, you'd add them again, to which I get Bug. If you add the 4 digits and you get a number under 17, you don't need to add them up again.
If you get the same type for both Primary and Secondary type then you're just a pure Type Pokemon!
