You need to work on blending mor, these are really good and they look impressive but generally the render just looks slapped on top

Well, you're right. I'm just starting to do these things from smudging. All I do to the render is slap on top and increase some Sharpness xD
I'll try improving my blending skills and do some smudges around the render. Thank you :)

Nah, it's just been some days. Well, once you learn smudging and some blendings, it ain't that hard :)
