"Not that good." I mutter.

"What do you mean 'not that good'? These are AWESOME!" Shelby told, handing it back.

I shrug and put them in my bag.
"Well, all the kids at my old school thought I was pathetic, so I kinda didn't know what to believe. Hey, wanna be friends by any chance?" I ask.

"sure!" Shelby replied.
"You know. I've had a lot of kids be mean to me too. I really like paining." she showed him a painting of a goldfish.
"But they say that they've seen better. I mean there are better painters out there than me, but that doesn't mean my paintings suck. I learned not to listen." she told.

I smile.

"It's really nice." I say. "I'm guessing you like to read." I say.

"Yeah." Shelby replies.
"I've got this pretty good book." she says, showing Kenny the book she was reading.
"For some reason I brought a second copy of it. But I'll let you read it, if you want to." she finished, handing the book out.

"Nah, I'm fine." I say. "So you said you're new. That makes me your first friend, right?"

"Yep." Shelby replied.

"Well, I'm glad you're my friend." I say.
The bus comes to a stop.
"GET OFF THE BUS!" The driver called.
I get my stuff and walk off the bus behind Shelby.

Eventually they made it to the campgrounds.

A woman walks up to us. "My name is Candi Dedaline. I'm your new camp counselour. We're gonna have lots of fun, and you'll learn a lot too."

They send us to our cabins, and I get stuck in a room with a bunch of jocks.

Shelby was stuck in a room with a bunch of annoying people.
"Seriously?" she thought to herself.

I went to sleep and woke up to the smell of sweat.

Shelby had a hard time falling asleep because no one would shut up ALL NIGHT.

I got up and went to the shower rooms. I took a shower- for about an hour- to get the smell of sweat off of me. I got dressed, then I sat by the lake, thinking how bad camp was going to be.
