The group all met up in a small labyrinth.
"Where does this thing lead?" Sonic asked. Tails was holding up a device.
"About...10 feet underground." he replied.
"Well, then let's go!" Sonic said, sprinting ahead.
(Oh God. After saying that, now I've got the SUg theme stuck in mah head again. Dx)

At the end of the labyrinth was a pearl-like gem.

"He's right! We're going to need something of equal weight and shape to swap out for the Orb, otherwise this whole place is going to collapse!" Tails said, staring at a monitor.
"Wow. Called it!" Sonic cheered.

"Lets see..." I said examining the orb, "Not sure what it's made out of..." I said looking at it before simply making an exact replica of the orb and swapping places with the orb

The group all figuratively held their breath. Nothing happened.
"Whew! Looks like we did it!" Amy announced. But then the object rolled off the pedestal. Nothing happened for a minute, but then the whole room began to rumble.
"Crud! We're going to be buried alive if we don't get out of here!" Sonic yelled, trying to get himself and everyone else out.
(Good thing Shard's not there. xD He'd be MAD.)

The tunnel began to collapse!
"We're trapped!" Amy announced.
"Not on my watch!" Sonic yelled, spin dashing through the rubble.
"Hurry! Before more piles on top of it!" he called from the other side.

"That was close!" Tails exclaimed.
