The majority, anyway. I've seen some people who, like me, grew up with Modern, and are complete IDIOTS. someone said at one point (paraphrasing, but this is like 97% exact words. :L) "Modern is superior because he's fast."
What? That doesn't even make any sense. -_-
And then there are some that grew up with Classic, that don't really care. As another someone at one point said:
"Hey, Sonic is Sonic, right?"

Yeah. People are different from one other.

I prefer Modern over Classic, as mentioned before, but I realize the good points of each, too.

Classic: Simple goal most of the time, which is to get to the end as fast as possible for the player. And yet it's addicting, no matter how unfortunate to miss that platform and fall to your death, or hear that goodness-forsaken drowning music.

Modern: Really cool stories and awesome music. Not as addicting as Classic, but it changes the way how you race to the end or even change the goal outright. Also continually introduce either new characters (like Silver) or concepts (mostly for just that game, like the night stages in Unleashed).

And new characters means new stuff. :D If you've never fought/fought alongside said character, you have no idea what powers/etc they possess. :P Makes it more fun learning them. :3
Some of the music/etc from the Classic stuff is really addicting though.
I think I'm addicted to this game, and this theme in particular. xD


So both parts have good tunes, good levels, ad other good things. :P And that's with ANY franchise.

I don't care what people think about Gen IV, Pokemon Platinum will always be my favorite video game. I have rather fond memories of the game. Beating Cynthia with all my Pokemon except my female Infernape FireGirl fainted, even then she had half-health and I only had three Moo-Moo Milk. Going underground to uncover fossils, and level grinding random Pokemon for the heck of it. I would hang out at the Wi-Fi Plaza. Then if I didn't have one, I would ask for a Level Three toy from one of the other players towards the end, when the light show began. Then I'll start repeatedly using my toy, and other people even asked me to copy my toy and join in! I would keep mashing that button on the float until the end. I would try to start a chain with my PokeRadar to get Shinies, to no avail. I even go to the Old Chateau and try to find those two ghosts again!

Sorry, I was caught up with nostalgia.

So I go onto an article about a D/P/Pl remake (Me: DO IT, NINTENDO!) and they suggest it may not be good idea, since Sinnoh was known for being the "worst region". And I was okay with the article's opinion.

I, however, was not okay with what I saw in the comments section.

I saw this one guy saying Platinum was his favorite (Me: :D). Then in one of the replies, another guy said this:
"You need to play more games if [Pokemon Platinum] is your favorite."

The guy justified himself, but I got MAD reading that comment. The hater assumed that because he thought it was a bad game, it shouldn't be an experienced gamer's favorite.

Guess what? It's my favorite! And I've been in the fandom for eight years!

Wow! I didn't really get involved in Pokemon until Platinum came out. :P And Platinum was MY first game. xD (And Sinnoh's my fave. region! XD) But I loved that game. The Underground was my favorite. X3 I spent HOURS down there just digging up gems and fossils, and other hidden treasures. (I think I spent more time playing that than the actual game. xD)
But then again, a similar thing happened when my dad gave me his GBA and a copy of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. (My first LoZ game, and still my fave. X3) When I got the Shovel, it was like I couldn't stop digging holes in everything. xD In fact, I only completed one temple in the other word. :I (Too busy playing with Shovel. xD) So I was a bit sad when they came out with the remake A Link Between Worlds, because there was no Shovel. :c But hey, 'least I spent more time completing the game than digging holes. xD And then people get mad at me when I tell them I haven't played very many of the first games in a series. (Except for new releases, the only franchise where I've actually played the first game is Sonic. xD [Still hate Labyrinth Zone. D: ]) Heck for the older games like Mario and Legend of Zelda, most of them were made before I was even BORN. So that's a bit harder to get copies of, AND systems that will play them. :L But I guess they don't think about THAT.

Yeah. I wasn't born early enough to be old enough to get to play Gen I-III (I'm 16 now), so my first game ended up being Pokemon Diamond. But yeah, it was the Underground for you, Wi-Fi Plaza for me.

Though I never got explore Kanto and Johto until HG/SS, and only had a small taste of Hoenn and Kalos in AS and X respectively.

Either they're older fans, or really spoiled kids.

And who didn't feel the suspense in this scene?

Either that, or their parents were the spoiled kids, and gave their children their old games/systems. My dad was one of those, and he gave me three of his old game systems, and then his DS Lite when he got bored of it. So that happens, too.
But now people are either hating on your for NOT having older games, or they're hating on you for NOT having NEWER games. :L It's like you can't win with some of them. And then you're terribly evil if you have BOTH.

I thought that people hated Gen 5 more than gen 4.
Because of Ice Cream, Garbage and Gears Pokemon XD (Klingklang is actually one of my fav. Steel types though)

And I grew up with Gen 1, But my first game was Pokemon Diamond. and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THAT GAME. Seriously, Why do people hate on Sinnoh? The only thing I hated about Diamond was that getting to the Survival zone was a pain in the [Buttox]. Then I got Soul Silver, which introduced me to my familliar territories of Johto and Kanto once again, Until it was stolen and I had an Arceus, like 5 Mew, and other things. Seriously, The games I most want a remake of are
D/P/Pl, R/B/G/Y. Because those two regions were my childhood in Pokemon (I've been in the Fandom for like 11 years, Started watching Pokemon when I was 4 I think on VHS.)

But there already technically was a Kanto remake in HS/SS. :P

That doesn't count because you start in Johto though.

Johto and Kanto are considered separate stories, or at least I do, due to the fact beating both Lance and Red brings you into the credits.

True, true. But there's also remakes of pretty much all Pokemon games (Yellow, Fire Red/Leaf Green, HG/SS for Kanto, Crystal and HG/SS for Johto, Emerald, OR/AS for Hoenn, Platinum for Sinnoh, White/Black2 for Unova and Nothing for Kalos yet XD) So making another Kanto or Sinnoh one would really make me happy, as both are my favourite regions. Mainly Kanto though because I get more nostalgia from it.

Like I mentioned, it'll always be Sinnoh for me. I really wish I had my copy before I was forced to give up my games because of my mom's ex-boyfriend. ._.

But yeah, I liked the first games, if only because of the glitches in it. I think I would want to encounter a Missingno (but not catch it XD).
